Every day we are exposed to toxins whether we are putting it in our body by choice or absorbing it through our skin or breathing, there are an extremely high amount of chemicals, hormones and pollution in our food as well as in the air. When the bodies circulation and elimination system becomes impaired, toxins and waste materials become trapped in the connective tissue. Stored toxins are permanently removed at a cellular level through the circulatory and lymphatic system which creates a permanent loss of 4 to 14 inches, Nourishing the skin and contouring the soft areas of the body which will help with inflammation, Cellulite, and stretch marks.

The product that we use is completely natural and have no side effects, we Measure you from head to toe, apply a body contour cream wrapping the entire body. This certain wrapping technique will be similar to doing and acupressure treatment. It will be applying pressure to your pressure points and creating the release similar to lymphatic drainage. Which is a natural occurrence yet we are giving it a nice push in the right direction. We excrete toxins through urination and elimination. You will lose 4 to 14 inches in one hour and if you keep drinking a good amount of water throughout the day you will continue to lose more.

The toxins weigh us down and are stored in our fat cells, once these toxins are removed our fat cells will actually shrink in size.

Are the inches lost water weight?

No! wraps that promote water loss work momentarily for inch loss but then comes right back. This product does the opposite it hydrates the skin and body. This is for permanent toxin relief which can stay off if you do things such as eat sensibly, work out, and drink water regularly.

Will the inches come back?

That is completely up to you! If you treat your body well and do the things that are listed above it will stay off. Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, non-chemical, noninvasive method of resurfacing the skin that utilizes fine crystals to provide effective exfoliation and rejuvenation of the superficial layers of the skin. Microdermabrasion increases blood supply and provides nutrients necessary for regeneration, repair and cellular turnover. It will stimulate collagen and elastin production improving the skins in-elasticity and texture as well as lighten hyper pigmentation.

How does the treatment work?
The skin is cleansed thoroughly to remove excess oil and dirt. Next your trained aesthetician will target a stream of fine aluminum oxide crystals over the skin, paying attention to the more troubled areas that need resurfacing. In closing the aesthetician Will use the correct moisturizers and SPF to hydrate, soothe and protect the skin.

How many treatments are required?
You will notice immediate results but you will acquire the best results in 3-6 treatments spaced 7 to 10 days apart. If you have acne scars or discoloration, your skin may require more treatments. Monthly maintenance treatments every 2 to 3 months may be necessary to maintain the results that you desire.

Is Microdermabrasion safe?
Yes, Microdermabrasion is a very safe and common procedure. Unlike a laser resurfacing this procedure is not traumatic and therefore there is no downtime to allow for healing or recovery.
However, it is very important to let your aesthetician know if you are on ANY medication that could possibly thin the skin or make it sensitive.

Can I go back to work after a microdermabrasion treatment?
Absolutely, your skin may be sensitive to the touch and possibly feel like a slight sunburn you may also experience dryness or a slight color change in the skin. It is recommended that you do not wear makeup for the rest of the day that you have the procedure done so that the skin can have a chance to breathe and regenerate.

Will there be any downtime?
One of the most loved things about Microdrmabrasion is that there is no downtime. The skin will be slightly flushed with no recovery time. Hence the name, “lunch time facelift”. Therefore, this is an excellent option for people who cannot take time off of work for the deeper chemical peels or laser treatments.

What can Microdermabrasion do for my skin?
It will help the following conditions; sun damage, Superficial age spots, scaly skin, hyper pigmentation,  uneven skin tone, Oily skin, dry patchy skin, Acne scarring, Black/whiteheads, Stretch marks, And dull lifeless skin. Over the course of a full set of treatments your skin will contain higher levels of elastin and collagen which will improve the complexion and gives the skin a more radiant vibrant glow.

How long is the treatment?
Depending on the patients skin the treatment will last anywhere from a half hour to an hour.

What products do I use after Microdermabrasion?

Chemical Peels

What does a chemical peel do?

Chemical peeling agents resurface the skin, removing the superficial layers of the skin. This promotes the growth of a healthier top skin layer and improves skin problems such as, fine lines, hyper pigmentation, large pores, uneven texture and creates a more youthful appearance.

What should i expect during treatment?

There are many different types of chemical peels and our trained aesthetician will select the perfect match for your skins needs. Once the peel is selected the skin will be prepped, the peel will be applied for 3 minutes or so. Most clients will feel a slight tingle which subsides after a few minutes, depending on how sensitive the skin is. Lastly your skin will be neutralized, treated with the proper serums and moisturizer followed by an SPF to protect the skin as it will be a bit sensitive.

How long is the recovery time and how do I care for it afterward?

Recovery time depends on the type of peel that has been applied. Right after the peel your skin may feel tight or seem a little red. It’s important to understand that all peoples skin are unique so one person may peel and others may not. If you do peel, expect it to be peeling for about 3-5 days. Make sure to use a recommended moisturizer and SPF from your aesthetician and drink plenty of water to help heal and hydrate the skin. Heavy workouts and sweating should be avoided for a few days and do not wash your face post peel for that day if possible. Exposure to sun and the use of prescription topical needs to be avoided for a few weeks. If you do have peeling do not attempt to remove it unless it is very gently with a wash cloth, if you try to pick it off you could scar the skin.

What products do I use after the peel?

Your skin will be like a sponge after the peel and will absorb much more product. It makes a world of difference if you invest in the proper aftercare. You can always start out with a trial kit from your aesthetician to see if you like the product. Once we prescribe  the best product it will help the skin properly heal and get the correct nutrients it needs to look bright and beautiful.

Why didn’t my skin peel?

One does not need to physically peel to achieve the best results, in fact peeling can mean that the skin is dehydrated which is not a good thing. The amount of peeling may vary depending on the individuals skin condition. The whole concept of a peel is to refine the skin not to actually peel.

What’s the difference between drug store products and Professional products I can buy from a spa or skin care facility?

The difference in the products that you can buy at the drug store and the products that you buy at the spa are, the store and bought products are inexpensive for a reason, they are contained with inexpensive fillers such as alcohol, mineral oil, perfume, artificial dyes, and parabens which are not only bad for your skin they are also bad for your health. The problem with the drugstore products are that they do not truly treat the skin, they lay on top of the skin. The molecular structure is too large to fit into the skin. Professional skincare products have a massive amount of science that stands behind the product where they refine the molecular structure to penetrate and treat the skin. Yes it can be an investment but it will pay off, and you’ll have your skin to show for it.

How should I prepare for my Facial?

Come to your facial appointment on time and relaxed as possible. If you can come with a clean face that is ideal but if you cannot we will remove it for you. Please let your Aesthetician know if you are using any medications or certain topical treatments that may exfoliate the skin. Communicate to your skin professional what your home care regimen and products are, this is very important so that we can properly treat you and do not have any counter reactions.

Waxing

What body parts can I get waxed ?

We can wax almost anything, with the exception of the hair on your head and a coarse beard.

What kind of Wax do you use at Glow?

We only use the finest Brazilian wax and Italian soft pine wax both are made for sensitive skin

What is the Brazilian Bikini Wax?

Brazilian bikini wax is removal of ALL of  the hair from your most private areas in the lower region. You may have chosen to have everything taken off or to leave a shape in the front. Most people choose a landing strip or a triangle. Please be very specific as to what you would like to your Waxologist otherwise all of the hair will be taken from front to back. Which is a true Brazilian bikini wax.

How long does the hair have to be?

1/4 of an inch

Does it hurt?

Honestly there can be mild to moderate pain. Each individual has a different pain tolerance. We do offer a numbing spray to help ease the pain and our aestheticians are highly skilled and trained to make this experience as quick in painless as possible. It can be a bit more painful if you have a cold or if you are close to or on your menstrual cycle.

Can I get waxed if I’m on my menstrual cycle?

Yes. The Aesthetician Will provide you with some intimate wipes and you can make sure you have a clean tampon in place.

Will I be uncomfortable after my wax?

The courser your hair and the more sensitive your skin is the more you will feel it afterward. You do not want to go to an exercise class for have an intimate situation right after your wax because of friction it may be uncomfortable. The more often that you have it done the easier it gets because your hair will grow in thinner and more sparse because you’re weakening the root of the hair.

How long should I wait after shaving to get a Brazilian wax or a first wax in general?

However long it takes to grow the hair to 1/4 of an inch.

If this is your first time getting waxed or you have a big event coming up, I would not recommend getting your first wax a few days before. I would try to come in before at least a few weeks ahead of time after your second wax the results will be better and you won’t be uncomfortable for your special event.

How long will the results of the Brazilian wax last?

It really depends on your hair. Normally anywhere from 2-6 weeks It grows in different cycles, depending on the person and sometimes cultural background. If you shave in between your waxes the hair will grow back thicker as it always does. If you have patients it will pay off

Can I get a Brazilian wax if I am pregnant?

Yes, although you may find that you may be a bit more sensitive when you’re pregnant and towards the end of your pregnancy you will be a bit more engorged.

Can I go tanning before or after a Brazilian wax?

It is best not to, your skin will be very sensitive and it would be better to do an airbrush tan instead.

Why don’t you trim for clients?

Hygiene. We as Aestheticians are not able to trim the pubic hair for reasons of the hair spreading around the room. Your hair should be about a quarter of an inch long so that the wax can pull it from the root. If you could please trim before hand but no shorter than a quarter of an inch or the hair will not pull.

Professional Make-up

What’s the difference between Proffesional Make-up Artist and me doing my make-up myself?

The difference between doing your make-up yourself and hiring a professional is that our Make-up Artists do this for a living which means they have a trained eye. If your skin looks healthy and glowing all else will look its best.

Do I have to wear more make-up if I am going to be on camera or having photos taken?

You do not have to but if you let us apply a small amount more than you normally wear the pictures will come out more life-like.

When you take pictures your make-up needs to be camera ready, If there is flash involved in the pictures that you are having taken a good amount of the makeup will disappear on camera, so it is important that the right products and right application is applied. We can make you look amazing on and off camera. It is fun to just have a different look too, we get stuck in our day to day make-up which can be a bore. Our professional kits are obviously much more detailed then what most ladies are carrying around  in their make-up bag.

What is HD Make-up?

HD make-up is a bit more sheer while still hiding and even skin textures and flaws. You can actually see the skin through the makeup, normal make-up can give a cakey effect and settle into fine lines. HD make-up will give you a more luminous look.

Can I use some of my make-up?

We encourage you to bring your own make-up. We will have more than enough make-up to suit your needs but sometimes this can be helpful since we get accustom to certain things.

If you have a favorite product that you cannot live without, or foundation is most common please bring it in. We will let you know if it will be the best choice of make-up for the event.

Ive never worn false lashes? Will they stay on?

Although false lashes can be tricky, if the are administered correctly they will stay put and if you are new to wearing them we can provide a lightweight lash.
